Psychometry

Psychometry...touching stuff.... ok maybe more than that... lol

While on a three day get away to the Mecca of Spiritualism, Lilydale, NY, I decided to take classes. I mean how could I go to a place rich with all kinds of knowledge and not dive in?  I am so eager to learn and explore this great world of ours, both seen and unseen. One of the classes I had taken was Psychometry.

Now, I was a bit skeptical at first.  However, clairsentience is real, andpicking up vibes from objects seems legit. The presenter I watched is also a medium at Lilydale,  and she explained how psychometry can really help with connecting to people. Some mediums use it in investigations, or working on cases for police. Yes, police do use medium, and no they do not admit they use them.

Does our aura leave an imprint on items?  I mean every scary possessed doll movie, seems to imply yes. Can an object really hold that much of us in it?

This person clearly likes her life, loves her friends, is ambidexterous, has hazel eyes, and loves traveling. I can see it all now, crystal clear. Oh, and she is about to win the LOTTERY.. and I am not talking 5.00 dollar win, I am talking BIG BIG MONEY.

Time to learn. The classes at Lily Dale are a great way to extend your skills, try new things, and network with like minded people. I think some of the best moments were knowing there were people out their like me, who also wanted a broader understanding of the world.

After some discussion about how psychometry is done, she had us break down into small groups. At this time we each took a small personal item off and put it in a basket. We made sure no one saw what we placed in. Later we passed the basket, and picked something out.  We then took several minutes to hold the item, and concentrate. We were instructed to write down whatever came into our mind, as silly as something might have seemed.  One women kept insisting to another she saw a horse.  The woman who she was speaking with, hates horses. Throughout the meeting everyone kept mentioning the horse to her as a running joke.  Will she get a horse? Probably not. Was it a way to break the ice, you bet.

Sometimes the most silly ideas, are the ones that mean something truly unique to a person.  She said if you see a "chicken" then say I see a chicken. We all giggled, but she said certain things mean things to others and we have no idea.

For my first go I was given a piece of paper upside down. It felt like a picture. I focused my intent, and came up with small boy, freckles, gap tooth, brown hair. A very active boy, whom the person must have a close bond with. When I flipped the picture, the owner was amazed that I had gotten it 90 percent right.  He was indeed all of those things, except he did not have freckles like I had imagined. She said he does freckle in the summer though.  Apparently this was her grandson, and she was very close to him. She was also very excited as I had a vision of snow, sledding, and kids with rosy cheeks and snow hats. She reported she had come from Canada, and that is how she grew up.

I also had a group experience and I have to say sitting there touching other peoples possessions you do get a vibe. A woman in the group knew the item I gave which was a watch. She pretty much pegged me dead on. I was pretty impressed. I will spare you the personal details she got right, but I might add it was impressive.  She said she had been drawn to me when I walked in the room, so she knew the item she would get would be mine.

Psychometry is a really interesting and useful gift.  It makes you rely on your internal feelings and beliefs. It forces you to trust what you are told no matter how strange it may seem. Strengthening that connection to self, and feeling confident about what we know is true. Another way we continue on the path of connecting to who we are at are very core. I mean isn't that what it is really about? Finding our voice and trusting our own intuition and thoughts over anything we are surrounded? I think if we focus on the internal than the external noise will eventually quiet. I mean really that should be our goal? To cancel the outside messages and know yourself. Definitely something to consider.
